SO MANY OTHER THINGS
It took a couple of months with the staff of the Brudine Veterinary Hospital before I felt I like had begun to get a grasp on the essential truth of veterinary practice. Although, when I recently re-read James Herriot’s, IF ONLY THEY COULD TALK, I realised I could have had a head-start. In his career-inspiring book, Herriot observes, “If only vetting just consisted of treating sick animals. But it didn’t. There were so many other things.”
SO MANY OTHER THINGS (working title) is an upcoming long-form photo-essay about what it means to work in a suburban small/exotic animal veterinary practice, from the good to the hard, and a couple of cute puppies. Photography took place from December 2017 to July 2018. See out-takes and early previews on instagram.
